MADE IN WASHINGTON

A hyper-local upcycled collection made in Seattle by your neighborhood seamstresses and textile artists.

$500 Billion: Materials Value Lost Annually Due To Textile Waste

Globally we are wasting $500B worth
of materials due to valuable textiles being sent to landfills or burned.

Did you know that locally, from  Seattle alone, we send over 13,000 tons of textiles to the Oregon landfill annually — wasting human and material potential.

No wonder consumers feel disconnected from their clothing.

Meanwhile there is a large under-utilized talent pool of immigrant and refugee seamstresses, local textile artists and upcyclers in our local communities who bring a wealth of knowledge from their own - and they are eager to work.

Our Solution: A Hyper-Local Fashion Supply Chain in Washington State

We are reimagining the fashion
supply chain entirely, and solving the massive textile waste problem locally.

We are mapping where textile
waste lives in our cities – then harnessing untapped local talent to create beautiful, emotionally durable products in the communities where they’re needed.

This is the future we are building at Transcend.

What is Made In Washington?

We are excited to announce the launch of our first ever “Made in Washington” collection debuting at the Couture & Cars fashion show on July 19th, 2025. The collection is created from local textile waste sourced through Prairie Underground, Redesign Collective and Community donations.

The collection is designed in Lake forest Park, and brought to life by refugee and
immigrant seamstresses and textile artists across Seattle, Burien, and Bellevue.

Its a hyper local clothing line that represents the amalgamation of our state’s cultural communities.

How Is Transcend Making An Impact?

This collection alone, diverts over
500 pounds of textile waste from landfills, creating paid opportunities for 6
people locally. Made by Washingtonians, for Washingtonians.

We are open-sourcing our Seattle based manufacturing infrastructure to brands and individuals who want to produce locally.

SMALL BATCH PRODUCTION - UN SDG 12

Transcend is committed to preventing overproduction and inventory waste. Collections are made in small batches. The brand takes a conservative approach to inventory forecasting and often launches collections on a pre-order basis if demand cannot be predicted with confidence, for example when launching new product categories.
